Rock for Dimes is a corporate battle of the bands held to benefit March of Dimes Canada's programs and services for children and adults with disabilities. Amateur musicians compete in this friendly fundraiser for the title of their city's best corporate band. Bands will showcase their talents in front of a roster of Canadian music industry professionals, friends and fans at the Commodore Ballroom on February 23, 2018.
This event has become March of Dimes Canada's flagship national fundraiser and is now held in communities coast to coast. Since its inception, Rock for Dimes has raised over $1,500,000 to support programs and services such as our Stroke Recovery Canada® and Conductive Education®programs, and Rock for Dimes Vancouver has raised $143,000. Our goal for 2018 is to raise another $35,000. With your help we can do it!
The emcee for the evening will be On-Air personality Paul Brown & Michael Kuss from 96.9 Jack FM, and special guest speakers will include award winning humanitarian, author, paralympic trialist, and four-way amputee Tracy Schmitt, stroke survivor Dannielle Hayes, and former Canadian wrestler Bret 'Hitman' Hart, Spokesperson for Stroke Recovery Canada and a true champion in and out of the ring. Judges will include Corbet Rutzer, Music Director from 96.9 Jack FM, Lori Johnson, Music Therapist from Note by Note Music Therapy, and the Unstoppable Tracy Schmitt.
